During the reign (1894-1917) of Emperor Nicholas II a number of his portraits was painted. Most of them, however, were so-called "official" portraits, lacking both spiritual dimension and artistic quality. Prints of these portraits, brought by the Russians into Diaspora, have a great sentimental value for their owners, but by and large they are unfit for reproduction.
Fortunately, there is a portrait of the Emperor which is free of the above shortcomings. It was painted by Valentine Serov (+1911), a great (maybe the greatest) Russian artist. You can view and download a somewhat larger image of this portrait (~100 Kbytes, could take an extra minute) and print it out at any size using a color or b/w printer.
